IBRO-USCRC funds a part of the travel of up to 12 awardees (students and postdoctoral fellows) to the Canadian Association for Neuroscience meeting every year. This is an excellent opportunity for for Canadian trainees to present their work and network with others across the country.
The dollar amount of individual awards is based on a sliding scale depending on how far the students need to travel to get to the meeting in Toronto.
Those coming from farther away are awarded more. This is calculated and administered by the Conference organizers.
Note also that this travel award covers about 30% to 50% of the cost of attending the meeting, as a result, the rest of the funds need to be leveraged from other sources.
