The ALBA Network

As a founding partner along with FENS and SfN, IBRO helped to establish the ALBA Network in 2019, with the goal of promoting equity and diversity in the brain sciences.

The ALBA Network aims to:

  • Promote best practices to counteract bias
  • Recognise outstanding contributions to science and diversity
  • Provide networking and mentoring opportunities to promote careers for members of underrepresented groups

Through the ALBA Network, IBRO supports programs aiming to facilitate discussions about issues facing neuroscientists globally, and the best ways to address them, as well as providing networking and mentoring opportunities for scientists from underrepresented groups. In 2023, ALBA-IBRO programs will include a Global Diversity webinar series, podcast, and a series of events at the SONA, IBRO and SfN annual conferences.
