The goal of the school is to equip participants with theoretical knowledge on recent advances in pathological mechanisms, diagnostics, and treatment of brain-related disorders covering neurological, neurosurgical and neuropsychiatric diseases. Basic techniques in systems and clinical neuroscience with regard to laboratory skills including DNA/RNA extraction, real-time qPCR, immunohistochemistry, and neuropsychiatric testing will be introduced. After completing this school, participants should understand the fundamentals of neuroscience and be able to practice basic techniques including immunohistochemistry and behavioral testing.

About the School
This six day school is for 20 students in brain science from countries within the Asian-Pacific region. The school will include 4 theoretical lectures, 8 tech talks, 8 laboratory hands-on sessions, and 4 group discussions by both international and local faculties. In group discussions, participants will be presented with neuroethical issues and encouraged to give both poster and oral presentations about their current studies. They will be also asked to prepare for a journal club by using a computer search for relevant articles on a given topic. Starting on Day 5, students will be facilitated to join the lectures and symposia at the 9th Annual Meeting of Mongolian Neuroscience Society. To strengthen friendships, the local organizers will also arrange a half-day social activity after the official program.
Who should apply to this School?
Students should be postdocs, PhDs, MDs, MScs, and BScs from all institutions in the APRC Region.
