The IBRO Travel Grant program aims to foster neuroscience research by providing support to early-career Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows ≤ 40 years of age (+ time taken for parental leave) from diverse geographical and scientific areas who wish to participate in international neuroscience meetings and events taking place between July-December 2022.

Eligibility Requirements

  • At least one letter of reference is required in order to be considered for this grant. Two is ideal.
  • Applicants from the US must be current Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP) Scholars or Associates to be eligible to apply.
  • This grant is not open to applicants currently residing in Canada.

Applications to the FENS Forum 2022

Applications to attend the FENS Forum 2022 are ineligible via this call. Applications should be submitted directly via the FENS/IBRO-PERC Travel Grants call for applications, located on the FENS website, by March 1, 2022.

Applications to the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Annual Meeting

IBRO and the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) offer joint travel fellowships to Neuroscience 2022 for neuroscientists under the age of 35 who are currently working and living in a resource-restricted country – those defined by the World Bank as low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income (click here for the World Bank’s country classifications.) Registration fees are waived for successful candidates. The applicant should be the first author of an abstract to be presented at the SfN annual meeting. A copy of the abstract submitted to SfN for a poster or a platform presentation is required.

Those applying to attend Neuroscience 2022 and fitting the above profile will be automatically considered for an IBRO-SfN Travel Grant in the amount of 2,500 USD.
