Brain disorders are known to be one of the greatest risks to public health. Translational neuroscience is an essential research field aimed at transforming basic science knowledge into interventions for treating brain disorders. Therefore, the purpose of the school is to provide a platform for students to gain an understanding of basic neuroscience underlying brain disease and of translating basic neuroscience into clinical neuroscience. The goal of the school is to provide participants with a knowledge of neuroscience research that may be beneficial to develop their further research to improve the treatment of brain diseases.
About the school:
The IBRO-APRC Associate School on Neuroscience and Brain Disease: From Translation to Intervention will be held at the Faculty of Medical Science, Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand. It will be organised in collaboration between the Centre of Excellence in Medical Biotechnology (CEMB), the Faculty of Medical Science and the Thai Neuroscience Society (TNS). The school will be held in conjunction with the 26th Thai Neuroscience Society International Conference so that participants can attend and enjoy a broad multiplicity of leading-edge neuroscience research. Academic researchers and invited speakers will contribute knowledge of basic and clinical neuroscience, and advanced research on psychiatric diseases.
The school will provide a 6-day comprehensive course program including comprehensive lectures, demonstrations of modern methodological approaches and panel discussions associated with research ethics, neurobiology, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, neuropsychopharmacology, and clinical neuroscience as well as translational research in neurodegeneration and psychiatry.
