The IBRO External Relations & Events Coordinator will have a key role in implementing and expanding IBRO’s partnerships and advancement initiatives and will coordinate and follow up on the agreed activities in close collaboration with IBRO’s committees and external stakeholders. In addition, the External Relations & Events Coordinator will be responsible for implementing a variety of IBRO events.

The External Relations & Events Coordinator is part of a dedicated team and reports to the Director of External Relations, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Specific responsibilities for the position include acting as the point of contact for the coordination of IBRO alumni events and other IBRO-led events, that are often organized in the context of larger neuroscience conferences. A significant additional responsibility linked to the position includes day-to-day support and project coordination related to the large IBRO World Congress, that will next take place in September 2023 in Granada, Spain.

IBRO offers a stimulating and supportive work environment within a strong team focused on delivering our mission to the global neuroscience community. The secretariat of IBRO consists of five full time staff members who work in a transversal and integrated manner. The External Relations & Events Coordinator will work in coordination with other staff members and should expect occasional travel in connection with international neuroscience conferences.

The External Relations & Events Coordinator must be systematic and detail oriented with a collaborative mindset. Previous experience (minimum 1-2 years) with events management and/or policy work is required for the position, and a degree in a relevant discipline would be considered an advantage. Very strong English language skills are required for the position (fluency in both written and spoken English).

The External Relations & Events Coordinator will be based in the IBRO offices in Brussels, Belgium. The position is permanent and full time (38h /week). IBRO offers an attractive employee package including lunch vouchers, group insurance and retirement plans.
