IBRO-ARC Neuroscience School on Infectious Diseases, Epilepsy, and EEG

14/11/2019 - 17/11/2019

This IBRO-ARC neuroscience school aims to discuss the impact of infectious diseases on the central nervous system. Participants will also participate in the Biennial Congress of INRB (November 14-16, Kinshasa, DRC) devoted to infectious, parasitic and viral diseases. At the end of the conference, one full day (November 17) will be devoted to the physiopathology of epilepsy and its treatment.

Just after the meeting in Kinshasa, students with a particular interest in EEG will be selected to participate in a session devoted to EEG recording and interpretation in NEMBA, Rwanda (19 to 29 November 2019). The facilities offered by Nemba Center will give the opportunity to each participant to keep in close contact with the instructors who will give them the basics in the EEG.  Each student should be able at the end of the training to make the protocol of a normal and abnormal EEG.
Trainers of the two workshops will be selected among epilepsy experts in Europe, North America, and Africa. They will share what has been documented in the literature, propose ways to carry out the diagnosis as well as elaborate on the international standards for the treatment of epilepsy.
