IBRO-UM5 Advanced Neuroscience School on Basal Ganglia and Linked Diseases

This advanced school aims to train students in the theme of basal ganglia and diseases that are linked to their dysfunction. The courses will take place at the Faculty of Science and at the Mohammed VI Foundation. Students will benefit from courses of very high levels on the organization of the Basal Ganglia, on their physiology and pathophysiology, in particular Parkinson’s disease but also other diseases. Students will analyze scientific articles during the journal club and will present their research work in poster and oral presentations. Technical workshops will be organized to teach students methods such as immunohistochemistry, HPLC, and cognitive and motor tests. At the Mohammed VI Foundation, students will follow surgery and deep brain stimulation in Parkinson’s patients and will assist in the selection of patients.
