This school aims to train young general practitioners and residents in neurology from African francophone countries in order to build and strengthen their capacity to take in charge the patients living with epilepsy. The activity intends also to help them, once back in their respective countries, to ensure sustainability and permit to train other colleagues in the field of epilepsy and EEG.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

This school will cover a comprehensive range of topics including the definition and neurobiology of epilepsy, the latest classification systems, associated co-morbidities, the role of neuroimaging, risks related to epilepsy, emergency management, treatment options, and the fundamentals of EEG usage.

Participants will engage in discussions and round-table sessions with the faculty, fostering an interactive learning environment. A quiz will be administered at the beginning and end of the course to assess knowledge transfer. Individual responses will remain anonymous, though scores will be tracked to measure learning outcomes.

The language of instrucion in this school will be French.

The faculty comprises esteemed epilepsy experts from both the Africa and Europe regions.

  • Only applicants from Francophone countries from the Africa region are eligible to apply to this school.
  • Selected Applicants should apply for visa at the Embassy of DRC in their countries or in the neighboring countries where DRC has either an Embassy or a Consulate. The confirmation of participation will depend upon obtaining the visa.
