The Young IBRO Maternity/Parenthood in Neuroscience Grant is for early career Principal Investigators who are approaching parental leave (either via birth or adoption) by providing up to 4000€ to support their research career while they are forming a family.
In this round, Young IBRO representatives from each Regional Committee selected one applicant from each IBRO Region, from the 13 eligible applications received by the deadline (for round 2 of 2021 program: 31 August 2021.)
Grantees for round 2 are from USA, Italy, Cameroon, Argentina & India. Round 1 grants were attributed to awardees in USA, Germany, Portugal, Argentina & Australia.
The five new awardees have been Principal Investigators for seven years or less, and have demonstrated their status as independent researchers. They are/were either pregnant or have given birth two months before the grant application deadline, or close to adoption as the primary caregiver.
